At KindleWood Studio, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information when you use our personalized children's storybook generation service.
Your uploaded photos are securely stored in Supabase (a secure cloud database). We use industry-standard encryption and access controls.
To create illustrations, narration, quizzes and writing help, we send the content needed for that task to an AI provider, which processes it and returns a result. These providers act on our instructions and do not use your content to train their models. We currently use OpenAI (illustrations, writing help, quizzes, and our Spark helper), Google Gemini (character analysis and story help), and Microsoft (narration voices). Photos are sent only for the illustration being created and are not kept by the provider. Generated images are saved securely to your KindleWood Studio account.
When you ask Spark a question, your message and the page you are on are sent to OpenAI so it can write a reply. If you are signed in, a short summary of your activity, such as how many stories you have made and which art styles you have used, may be included so the answer fits what you are doing. That summary never includes names, story text, photos or drawings. We keep Spark questions and answers for 90 days to improve our help content, and delete them afterwards. Please do not type personal details into Spark.
We do NOT sell your personal data. We only share data with:
All payment card information is processed directly by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never see, handle, or store your credit card details. We only receive confirmation of successful or failed payments and subscription status updates from Stripe.
KindleWood complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We take the privacy of children under 13 very seriously.
KindleWood Studio is designed for parents and guardians to create and manage content for their children:
All of this information is collected through the parent account and controlled by the parent.
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
To exercise these rights, sign in to your account and manage child profiles in Settings, or contact us at Admin@KindleWoodStudio.ai.
We do NOT sell or share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Children's photos are shared with our AI providers only to generate the story illustration being created, and are not stored by those providers. If a child uses Spark, our in-product helper, the question they type is sent to OpenAI to write a reply, and is kept for 90 days to improve our help content. Spark is instructed never to ask a child for personal details.
The KindleWood Kids mobile app is designed for children to consume content created by their parents. The app does not collect any additional information beyond reading progress and quiz answers, which are visible to parents in their account dashboard.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure authentication, and row-level security policies. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our website.
